I can’t tell you how much we appreciate the interest you’ve taken in [our daughter] and how proud we are of her. We are hoping to sign up our younger daughter as well as she too has quite an interest in art.

Susan,

Our daughter is planning on returning for the master art classes. There is no doubt that [her] art work has grown immensely since being in your class. It has also made her grow as a person. For that, I thank you and Sarah very much.

Hi Susan!
We appreciate your kind words, especially when we have benefited more than I can express from our time at the Art Center.

Gage has been loving taking art classes from Sarah.  The amount that he’s learned is clearly shown in the artwork he’s bringing home as compared to when he started when he was 5!  He loves the projects that he works on and is always proud to show me what his latest project is.  That’s what teaching is all about: teaching kids to love what they are doing and learning.  That Gage is getting this from NWAC is priceless to me!  Thank you Susan and Sarah and all the NWAC crew!

Hi Sarah,

I just wanted to let you know that Natalie totally loves your class. It’s her absolute favorite thing that she does all week – and I attribute that to YOU. Thank you for all you do!

Thanks a bunch,
Debby N.

Thanks so much.

Maddie, I, and dad (Rob) have had a lot of fun at the Art Center. Maddie is taking several classes and Rob and I have gone to the ‘wheel’ classes each with Maddie. SO FUN and wonderful teachers too!

Taking the art classes has helped him grow confident in his own ability. Lately he’s been drawing on his own as a leisure activity. He wouldn’t do that before. Thanks to all your patience in dealing with this difficult teenage stage.

Thank you,
Mariani

I’ve always loved art and spent a lot of time creating things as a child. As an adult though I have found that just the daily demands of life have crowded out my time to just relax and create something. When I do take time for art now, I have become a perfectionist and just can’t relax and enjoy the process anymore. I’ve spent the last 2 years watching my kids bring home fabulous projects that looked like they were so much fun to do. I wished I could be motivated and loosen up enough to ‘play’ and see what happened. I had been expressing my frustrations to my daughter’s art teacher, Sarah Westfall, at NWA. She suggested that I take a children’s class this year with my daughter. I have taken many adult classes over the years but this was a new idea that seemed a little off the wall at first.

What have I found in the Drawing, Painting and Sculpture art class (8 -13yrs) over the last few months? I am having a wonderful time and enjoying the class as much as my daughter. The kids are amazingly accepting and have such a positive attitude on the creative process that I have missed all these years. Anything is possible and everything is worth trying. I am making things that I would never have thought to try and having a great time. We now have a giraffe mask hanging in our kitchen! Since Sarah teaches classes for both kids and adults she easily shifts from helping the kids to giving me the help I am looking for as the ‘older’ student in the class ;) Best of all, my 10 year old daughter is sitting right next to me, creating her own masterpieces while we spend time relaxing together.
